Lightweight, compact and easy to adjust. I have used it on forest trails and mountain paths and it has performed well on both. The EVA handle is comfortable and the locking mechanism feels dependable.
I used this on a trail with a lot of loose rock and roots and it gave me much better balance. The pole is light enough that it never felt tiring to carry, even when I was not actively using it.
It packs down small enough to strap to the side of my backpack and does not add much weight. I used it on a two-day trip and it was especially useful on steep descents.
The three-section design is quick to adjust and the metal locks hold the length securely once tightened. I changed the height several times during a long uphill and downhill hike without any trouble.
I started using this on longer uphill routes and it helps me keep a steady rhythm without feeling like I am carrying extra gear. The carbon fiber construction is the biggest difference compared with my older pole.
The pole feels sturdy and the adjustment range works well for me. The included baskets and rubber tip cover are useful depending on the surface. I only wish the storage bag were a little thicker.
The metal locking hardware was one of the reasons I chose this model. Once adjusted, the sections stayed in place and I did not notice any slipping during the hike.
I wanted something lighter than my old aluminum pole and this has been a nice upgrade. It feels noticeably easier to carry and the tungsten tip gets good contact on packed dirt and stone.
The grip is comfortable even after a few hours of hiking. I also like the wrist strap because it gives me a little extra security on uneven ground. Overall it feels well thought out for the price.
I bought this for weekend hikes and the first thing I noticed was how light it feels in hand. The carbon fiber shaft does not feel flimsy and the pole stayed stable on both dirt trails and rocky sections.
